Greenery Galore: Fern Wedding Bouquet, Wall & Succulents

Weddings

Inspired by organic design, I incorporated gorgeous greens into a fern wedding bouquet, photo backdrop wall, boutonnieres and more. Take a look at this fresh, relaxed wedding and read about how this couple made it their own with unique florals.

Green and white wedding flowers

The couple of the hour asked me to design wedding florals that were filled with greens. They loved the color so much that they opted for an 8×8 foot backdrop wall. Drew even wore a dark green suit and Kristen wore suede green high heels with her dress.

Contrast in colors

The groom, a graphic designer by trade, has such an artistic eye. We collaborated to create a green-based design with white flowers to contrast. The white looked so fresh and clean against the greens!

Greenery wall backdrop

Let’s talk about this 8×8 foot greenery wall backdrop. Built with large peices of plywood and beams on the side. We added moss, chicken wire and darn greens to cover up the mechanics of the wall. The ferns, succulents and air plants added contrast to the green tones and was the final touch on the wall.

I spent months creating the perfect wall — one we could take apart and put back together on site. I also wanted to make sure this could be used again for another event. Thanks to my handy husband and an incredible team of florists, it turned out beautifully.

We also incorporated a neon sign that they had custom made. It said, “this must be the place,” which is the name of a song from the Talking Heads. They danced to this song for their first dance!

In love with the fern wedding bouquet

Slightly overflowing, adorned with greenery and filled with soft whites, this fern wedding bouquet stole my heart and the bride’s too!

The floral lineup

I know how helpful it can be to see the names of flowers and plants that we used.

We used a variety of ferns on the wall with succulents and air plants. The tables featured arrangements with roses, ranunculus, anemone, cosmos, dahlias and scabious flowers.

Laid back and inspired: meet the couple

Drew and Kristen are a very relaxed and laid back couple. They had such great style and between my vision and their own, we created magic.
